Shamoon Ahsan was a courageous and brave young man. He was an active and energetic participant in high school and was proficient in academics and a star on the high school table tennis and basketball teams. In a dignified and strong manner, he fought leukemia, only to pass away at the young age of 18 shortly after receiving his University acceptance letter in his final year of high school. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated excellence in academics and combined this achievement with outstanding contributions to their school and/or community.

Objective

MAX All Star scholarships aim to recognize and reward remarkable, well-rounded students who have excelled in academics and combined this achievement with outstanding contributions to their school and community.

1. Self-identify as Muslim
2. Have attained an overall average of 80% or higher from University/College, calculated from a valid transcript
3. Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
4. Demonstrate involvement and leadership in extra-curricular activities at school
5. Demonstrate involvement in volunteer initiatives that have a positive impact on the Muslim community and Canadian society
